Another fun filled week here at Dive and Sea Tenerife,
Turtles, Morays, Discover Scuba diving and much more.
After a nice well deserved lay in Melissa and Alice headed down to El puertito with new divers,
Ana, and Tristan, Rescue Diver Cyril and Open Water diver Gary. They had an excellent morning diving and
everyone was thrilled at their experience with the Turtles.
It is definitely one thing to see the Turtles in photos and
TV but its an amazing experience when you see them up close and personal. Its such a nice experience to see how
inquisitive the Turtles are, they come so close to divers, and their eyes seem
to be looking directly into yours. This
is definitely one of our favourite sites, and I have not met anyone who doesn’t
love the experience.
At this dive site there is also plenty of other aquatic life
to see, and for new divers Tristan and Ana it was an eye opening experience
into the array of aquatic life they could see.
They were really happy to see Nudi Branc, Bream, Damsels and hermit crabs.
A very early start with Discover Scuba Diving for Edim and
Colm, they did really well in their pool session and were very excited for
their Open Water dive at Yellow
Mountain , where they were
joined by Aidan.
On the Open Water
dives they saw Octopus, Bream, Trumpet Fish as well as a cuttlefish. As always it was amazing to see the faces of
the two boys on their first experience under the sea.
Finally it was time for Ana to complete her Open Water diver
course, so off she went with Alice, Pete and boyfriend Cyril to Yellow Mountain ,
to complete Open water dives 3 and 4.
She has done really well on her course and has been a pleasure to teach
for Alice .
Unfortunately this was their last dives here in Tenerife but hopefully we will see them both
again back in Tenerife .
This week we were joined by Aidans Daughter Gill and her
friends Muireen and Brian for their Discover scuba diving experience. The kids were definitely not awake when they
arrive at 07:30 at the dive centre but the pool soon woken them all up, and
they couldn’t wait to go out in the ocean, with Pete, Alice, Aidan, and Mick.
Then they headed out to Yellow Mountain
on the boat for a nice relaxing dive.
They all had a great time and the new divers were amazing it was a great
dive. On the dive they saw Lizard Fish,
Wide Eyed Flounders and Arrow Crabs.
Then after dropping Aidan and the
kids off they went to Giranno Arecife for a nice drift dive!! They saw Redbacked Cleaner Shrimp, Anemones
as well as an octopus. All in all a great
mornings diving.
A glorious sunny morning calm seas and Melissa out diving on
the boat, whatever next!!! Melissa and
Alice headed out to Poco Naufragio with Mick, Aidan and Nigel, Alice headed off into the depths insearch of
Stingray while Melissa stayed on the shelf with nigel and Aidan Open Water
Divers. On the shelf there are some
absolutely amazing things to see, on this particular dive, there were several
different coloured anemones, with Sexy Shrimp, A small and a Large Grouper as
well as a shoal of large Baracuda circling the shoals of bream. Best of all though was Melissa getting
attacked by an Octopus, it obviously took exception to the flash on the camera
and launched itself at her! Lots of squeeling
and laughing all round!!! Down in the depths
where a very small fishing boat lies Alice
and Mick were happy to See two Morays black and fangtooth as well as a large
stingray and a small common ray. What a
fantastic way to start your day.
After dropping Melissa and Aidan off at the Marina Alice,
Mick and Nigel headed off to Alien Rock, another one of our favourite sites, a
large rock formation which hides a mulitude of aquatic life. On this particular dive they saw saw lots of
octopus although none that attacked them!!! As well as Trumpet fish, Anemones
and cleaner shrimp.
A great week here at Dive and Sea, and more fun to look
forward to next week, with PADI Specialities and fun recreational diving.
