How fast can time fly and doubled my number of dives

 ScubaDivingHeader

Week two and there are clear signs of the Easter holidays fast approaching. DSD’s, Open Water courses and many happy customers walking through the doors of mermaid diving to see what Tenerife diving has to offer.

Over the past week I have more than doubled my total historical dive count and I am happy to say that I can already feel myself feel much more confident in the open water. This week I have been observing Tinman conduct Open Water courses in the pool and at Abades and the San Miguel Marina and buddying up with loads of customers on recreational dives.

My Divemaster Internship has been progressing nicely. I am pleased to announce that I am now an Advanced Open Water Diver. I completed the Underwater Navigator course and my first night dive early on in the week at Abades and my navigation and deep dives at Radazul. We were joined by Mark and his son Ryan (yes I know! And i’m stuck with Flounder!) for the night, navigation and deep dives who were here completing a few adventure dives. We all had a great time diving together and the night dive really was an experience to remember. It was incredible to see how much a dive site can change from day to night, and along with all the sleeping fish on the seabed, we were a little surprised and taken aback to see a massive sleeping turtle on the middle of the reef. We spent a lot of time watching the turtle which was the highlight of the weeks dives for us.

Outwith of diving, I have found a gym and an Iceland in nearby Las Chafiras. We also went to a large Spanish supermarket which Melissa has been persistently advising me to go to. I am sure that this was also an experience for her as my questions ranged from pasta boiling times to cooking a ‘pre cooked chicken’ (not my proudest moment I’m sure!) She has mentioned numerous times that between Tinman and I, it’s like having two small children. Anyway, roll on week 3!
