Plenty of good teaching opportunities this week

On Monday we dived at Abades with Vera and newly qualified open water diver Wendell. The second of the dives was a night dive. Wendell thoroughly enjoyed the new experience and I was really pleased to see him relax and enjoy the new adventure.

We returned to Abades the next morning with new customers Tracey and Simon. We had 2 excellent dives with good visibility and an abundance of fish. The water temperature was 19 degrees.

We went to Radazul on Wednesady with Craig where we saw 3 large groupers and 1 large octopus. We then moved sites to Tabaiba where we dived the wreck at 30 metres during the early evening. I also used this dive to train Buzz in his wreck dive for his advanced course. He mapped the site and took numerous bearing for us. We then returned to the wreck for the night dive and Buzz briefed us on the key points of interest and bearings for the wreck. It was Craigs first night dive and was a new experience for him.

On Thursday we went to El Puertito with Tracey and Simon where we saw 2 turtles on the first dive and were joined by a baby turtle and an adult on the second dive . We were able to swim with them and we had an amazing time. They are so used to divers and very relaxed around us.

On Friday we went to Las Eras with Brian where we saw a wide variety of fish. This is an excellent site with larger fish sizes being seen. We saw large trumpet fish, Scorpion fish and Parrot fish.
This weekend the interns have worked hard. Buzz has passed his advanced diver course and I have done his confined rescue sessions. Flounder has passed his divemaster exam and we only have his skills review to do.

This has been another great week for weather with temperature some days in the late 20′s. The diving has been excellent with the sea almost 20 degrees.

It just leaves me say “Come on and jump in you never know what you might see”
